Tour Route: Hanoi – Mai Chau Valley – Phu Yen – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen – Sapa – Bac Ha – Ha Giang – Dong Van – Bao Lac – Ba Be lake – Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi

 

-Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau Valley: 170 km

The ride to Mai Chau starts at about 9:00, hitting the road down to the south west of Hanoi on the highway to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital as quickly as possible. After a brief one hour ride we’ll be in a mountainous area where the tour really begins. We'll be on countryside roads, seeing green nature and meeting smiling local people. After lunch in Hoa Binh, we continue riding on mountain backroads and along the Da riverbank and through mountain passes before descending to the stunning Mai Chau valley. We'll Arrive in Mai Chau at about 5:00 pm.

 

-Day 2: Mai Chau – Phu Yen: 150 km

After breakfast, we continue the motorbike tour to Phu Yen. This is a relatively short ride but offers many stops for landscape photography and visiting the villages of local hill tribes. Before climbing to the the top of the Moc Chau plateau, you have the option to have a short off-road motorbike ride through some rustic villages or enjoy a smooth ride on the old and quiet French road that offers a beautiful view of mountains. After lunch in Moc Chau, we’ll motorcycle down to the further up the Da river to a ferry crossing. After crossing the river we'll head to Phu Yen town via an enjoying ride that hugs the river. This is a short but great ride, being similar to a ride along coastline of Vietnam. Arrive Phu Yen at about 4:30 pm.

 

-Day 3: Phu Yen – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen: 210 km

This 210 km motorbike ride from Phu Yen to Than Uyen is a fsantastic days ride. On this ride you experience everything that is famous about motorbike touring in Vietnam. You’ll get chances to see picturesque terraced rice fields, meet and learn about the different traditions between the local hill tribes and ride motorbikes freely on the winding quiet passes. This ride will be end at about 5:00 pm in Than Uyen town.

-Day 4: Than Uyen – Sapa: 110 km

After breakfast, we’ll start the ride to Sapa and the O Qui Ho pass – one of 4 longest and most beautiful passes in North Vietnam. The first 60 km ride is an easy ride on the smooth road through many villages and green tea farms, the last 50 km motorbike ride to Sapa is one of the best short motorbike tours in North Vietnam because of special feeling you’ll have when you ride upwards and upwards to Heaven Gate – at a height of around 2000 meters above sea level. We’ll be in Sapa at lunch time, in the afternoon, you can tour around Sapa by motorbike, explore Sapa on foot or just spend the rest of the day resting and relaxing.

 

-Day 5: Sapa – Bac Ha: 160 km

After saying good bye to Sapa, we’ll continue the motorbike tour Northeast to Bac Ha. Our initial ride today is all downhill, coming down on another side of the Hoang Lien mountain range. It also offers a great views of the range passing by local farmland with more terraced rice fields. The motorbike ride today is predominantly on sealed roads and as we get closer to Bac Ha we'll ride along the Chinese border through small villages. Day five of the tour will finish in the little town of Bac Ha at around 4: 00 pm.

 

-Day 6: Bac Ha – Ha Giang: 190 km

Unlike the previous days riding, today's ride to Ha Giang offers a different beauty of Vietnam with some excellent off-road riding. After lunch in a rustic restaurant in Xin Man, we’ll tour along a winding river with breathtaking views of the rice terraces of Hoang Su Phi. We’ll be in Ha Giang in the late afternoon.motorbike Ha Giang

 

-Day 7: Ha Giang – Dong Van: 150 km

Ha Giang – North Vietnam is the best place for motorcycle touring in Vietnam, being famous for the large and breathtaking plateaus of rocks and theccolorful and friendly people who inhabit them. Ha Giang and Dong Van Global Geo-park are attractive destinations for all motorcyclists in Vietnam and offer a different kind of beauty at different times of the year and seasons. Today's motorbike ride offers a lot of stops for photography and meeting local hill tribe minorities.. We finish the enjoyable ride in Dong Van town at about 5:00 pm.

 

-Day 8: Dong Van – Bao Lac: 160 km

After breakfast, we can have a walk around the Dong Van ancient town, trying tasty local coffee or you can have a longer walk up to some of the hills nearby the town where there are French bastions on built during their colonial occupation of Vietnam. We’ll resume the North Vietnam motorbike tour at about 10:00 am. This is a fairly short day of riding but it’s still one of the most enjoyable rides, we'll take in the wild beauty of the rock plateau after Dong Van and ride from Dong Van to Bao Lac crosings the Ma Pi Leng Pass – one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Vietnam. We’ll end the day in the Dong Van Global Geo-Park at about 4:30 pm.

 

-Day 9: Bao Lac – Ba Be lake: 150 km

&We'll be back on the bikes after breakfast and continue riding along the Gam river out of the Bao Lac town. The small road winds between the mountain and the river, through hill tribe villages and pass waving local children. After one of hour riding on sealed road, we will take you on one of the greatest off-road motorbike routes in Vietnam. It’s a long off-road ride through plenty of small minority villages and crosses some streams on bamboo bridges. Finally we'll arrive at Ba Be lake the day's tour will end in the early afternoon with a boat trip around Ba Be lake. Ba Be lake is the largest natural lake in Vietnam and is surrounded by a pristine National Park. We'll spend the night with a Tay minority family homestay.

 

-Day 10: Ba Be lake – Thac Ba lake: 160 km

Today's ride is to Thac Ba lake – one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Vietnam. After saying good bye to the Tay family , we continue the motorbike tour through ATK Dinh Hoa where we can stop to visit some historical sites such as the place where Ho Chi Minh founded the Vietnam communist party in 1930. We’ll end the motorbike ride at a quiet village of the Dzao people who live on the Thac Ba lake’s bank then leave the bikes in the village to have another boat tour around man-made Thac Ba lake to experience it's different beauty.

 

-Day 11: Thac Ba lake – Hanoi: 180 km

&We start the final days riding at 8 am. Our guide will take you on the safest and nicest roads back to Hanoi, we can also offer some off-road riding before heading back to busy Hanoi. We’ll be in Hanoi and end the great North Vietnam motorbike holiday before rush hour.
