Tour route: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Phu Yen – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen – Sapa – H a Giang – Dong Van – Meo Vac – Bao Lac – Ba Be lake – Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi

-Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau: 180 km (L,D – Home stay)Mai Chau

Be researching on Google Maps, you’ll see the shortest way from Hanoi to Mai Châu is only around 130 km but with our experienced of Vietnamese experts, you will have a longer and more enjoyable motorbike ride to Mai Chau. Instead of taking you on touristy tracks, our team will take you on countryside backroads through many rural rustic villages with scenic views of mountains and rice paddies. For other Vietnam motorcycle tour organizers this first day can be quite a boring day, however for us, it is a interesting and enjoyable beginning to to our tour in North Vietnam. We’ll be in Mai Châu – a peaceful village of the Thái people at 5:00 pm, then depending on your mood, we may have short walk around their lovely village before dinner.

 

-Day 2: Mai Chau – Phu Yen: 150 km (B,L,D – Hotel stay) Mai Chau - Northwest Vietnam

After saying good bye to our hosts in Mai Châu, wé’ll be heading North West tô Mộc Châu – one of the most beautiful plateaus in Northern Vietnam which is famous for it's green tea farms. Lunch will be served in Mộc Châu, after lunch we will ride on the mountain backroads to the Da river lake, this ride is extremely scenic, crossing some breathtaking mountain passes and many villages of colorful minority tribes. After crossing the river on a ferry, we’ll tour along the river bank tô Phú yên, it’s a short ride of about 30 km but it is through unique and interesting terrain that will remind you of riding along a coastline. We finish the day at the hotel in Phu Yen town at about 4:30.

 

-Day 3: Phu Yen – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen: 210 km (B,L,D – Hotel stay)

The ride on this day is again spectacular offering a lot of stops for photography. We’ll cross through Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai, two remote areas of Yen Bai province where the black H’mong, Dzao and Thai people make wonderful rice terraces on the steep mountain sides. This area is not well known or frequented by tourists and will give an authentic Vietnam experience. We’ll wiind up the day at a guest house in Than Uyen town at around 5 pm.motorbike ride Vietnam

 

-Day 4: Than Uyen – Sapa: 110 km (B,L,D – Hotel stay)

The motorbike tour to Sapa today is much shorter and the scenery is completely different from what you’ve seen in the previous days riding. We will leave the terraced fields behind and ride along smooth roads, passing green tea farms and natural forest. Well' ride higher into the mountains through the Ô Qui Hồ pass – one of the most beautiful passes in Vietnam. We will be in Sapa at lunch time. In the afternoon, we can have short Sapa motorbike tour to thte valley of Muong Hoa or take a walk to some villages of the hill tribes nearby Sapa town. We return to the hotel in Sapa town at 5 pm.

 

-Day 5: Sapa – Ha Giang: 220 km (B,L,D – Hotel stay)Ha Giang

This is the biggest day of this tour, to start we wind down the mountains from Sapa town heading down to Lào Cai city. After a drinks break in Lao Cai city and visiting the Chinese border, we will continue riding Hà Giang on winding roads through many rural villages. We will arrive in Ha Gaing at about 5 pm, check-in in the hotel room, have early dinner and prepare ourselves for riding on a rock plateau in the following days.

 

-Day 6: Ha Giang – Dong Van – Meo Mac: 170 km (B,L,D – Hotel stay)

This ride to Meo Vac is through some of the most remote land in Vietnam where the local people scarcely have enough food to eat although they’re always ready to give you a smile and wave thier hands whenever you passs them by. Every meter of the road offers special photographic opportunities. This 170 km motorbike ride is mostly on the famous Rock plateau of Đồng Văn, We’ll finish the day in the late afternoon in Meo Vac town.

 

-Day 7: Meo Vac – Ba Be lake: 180 km (B,L,D – Home stay)

After simple breakfast in a local restaurant, we continue the tour to Ba Be lake. The ride today is mostly downhill, the first half of the ride is on a quiet smooth road along the Nho Que river until Bao Lac where we stop for lunch. After lunch we will have great off-road ride on the rugged roads crossing some streams via bamboo bridges through villages of the Thai, Dzao and Tay ethnic minorities We will get to the village of tPác Ngòi after a short motorbike ride through the Ba Bể National park and do a homestay in the village with a Tay family.

Pác Ngòi is a peaceful village of the Tay people who build their houses on the stilts. The village is located nearby Ba Be lake and is surrounded by National park. This is a friendly place that is rich in culture, it's surrounded by pristine nature and is a great destination for any tourist.

 

-Day 8: Ba Be lake – Thac Ba lake: 160 km (B,L,D – Home stay)

After saying good bye our Tay family hosts, we will ride on toThac Ba lake. The motorbike ride today offers a different view of mountains to the previous days. The road is mostly flat with nice views of rice fields, tea plantations and beautiful rural villages. For the last 50 km to Thac Ba lake, we make a turn to a more challenging dirt road through some rustic villages instead of sealed road with a view of green tea fields. At around 4: 00 pm we’ll get to a peaceful Dzao village which is located nearby the Thác Bà lake, leave the bikes with our Dzao friends and then take a boat tour aroundthe beautiful Thac Ba lake.Thac ba lake - Northwest Vietnam

 

-Day 9: Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi: 180- km (B,L)

Unlike the other motorbike tour organizers in Vietnam who take tourists back to Hanoi from Thac Ba lake on the highway, Our tour offers a great motorbike ride back to Hanoi on countryside backroads and even short some off-road touring through small local communes. We will be back to Hanoi by 4:00 pm and end our great motorbike tour in Northern Vietnam safely.
